We thought we'd try Indian food since it's the only cuisine that we can't cook to perfection at Hampden Road. It was okay, but given the pricing and the portion, I doubt it's going to be our new haunt. Frankly speaking, I've had better Indian food in Tanjong Pagar. But what the hell, it's all for the experience!
The new-and-improved Bak Kut Teh!! It tasted sooooo damn fucking good I could even drink this everyday during winter. This was our second attempt though. I had to make a phonecall to my grandma cos something was lacking and we weren't sure what was. Turns out to be rock sugar. And the one we have at hand was huge so we had to use a hammer to break it up. It was hilarious!
Delectable. Mmmmhmm. Anyway,
chicken is the new pork if you don't already know.
Lilies. I have a
L♥VE-HATE relationship with this one. It's so pretty but can be so damn destructable.
Pollens are potent.
FYI, the stains came off after washing. Thank goodness.
And this concludes my random post.
It really is damn fucking gay to be up so late doing uni related shizz. Of course this is permissible if it's two weeks before finals/midsems. BUT, it's only week four! FOUR.
Which reminds me, midsems aren't exactly
thaaatt far away. 3 weeks odd I suppose. So, it isn't that gay afterall, to be doing tutorials up till 3ish in the morning, right?
Like to share something I discovered today. Well, not today per se, but what I saw just justified my stance.
-Ang mohs are really bad at math and spelling BUT, their general knowledge far surpasses any Singaporean kid of the same age group.
Was watching teevee and it was like the lousier version of Singapore's Brainiest Kid. So 3 teams were supposed to compete with each other. And this private school team was soooo effing lousy I couldn't stop laughing. First, they couldn't spell "E-F-F-O-R-T". The host gave them two chances and they answered "E-F-O-R-T" on both tries. DOHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Secondly, their answer to the area of a rectangle with sides 9 by 7 was 32.
-___________-
C'mon... I'd expected something better from a private school! Even the public school kids gave more intelligent answers. And they didn't look so annoying. Even the host said the boy from the private school had an expression like he didn't wanna be on the show. Sheesh!
Oh! And the boy said the capital of Egypt was KOREA. ZOMG?????? Daph said I should cut him some slack cos maybe he meant Cairo but couldn't pronounce it properly. I say they deserve no benefit of doubt. It was sooooo funny!
Then there were like the general knowledge questions like how many times bigger is the sun as compared to Earth if you were on Jupiter. Which obviously, I couldn't answer. Heh.
And now, it's bedtime. I hope the heat won't wake me up at 830am again.
We went crabbing 2 days in a row! Tom WILL make the worst tour guide & driver everrr. Anyway, it was superbly fun and I'm glad I finally did something out of the norm (read: shop). HAHA!
DAY ONEBecky, Catherine, Daph and I, all set and ready to go. In the dodgiest looking van ever. It was about as old as I am. Tom being annoying, AS USUAL, said this. "Becky, from America, Catherine from Scotland. And these two are from China." -____-
This is the classic example as to why Tom shouldn't drive. We were swerving left and right, the whole time his hands were on the steering wheel. Only when Kenny took over, we managed to get a little more comfortable.
Beeyooteefool sunset.
The water wasn't exactly very deep on the first day.
Okay guys.. meet Tom.....
21 years of age and still doesn't know how to wear his sandals the right way.
Anyway, he brought us to the wrong spot and we were freezing our butts off so no crabs. BOOOOO. We ended up at Hungry Jacks where there were plenty of
ah baos.
DAY TWOWe only managed to catch three crabs. The other group that went later caught about thirty over crabs. BOOOOO
The CJ entourage.
Nick and I. This has gotta be the fugliest getup you'll ever catch me in public with. Everything you can see on me belongs to Kenny except the yellow tee and gum boots. Which explains why I look like a man from waist up.
The Crew. Daph was outnumbered. The wind was so bloody chilling, it was a miracle we could even smile for the camera. Must be the loot. Must be the loot.
Sunset on the second day. The "horizon" was the shoreline and yep.. we went THAT far out. I was impressed with myself.
Got back to Jelvin and Nick's place where we cooked the crabs. No pictures because they were all gone in a split second. But I took pictures of their dogs.
This is Joey and the little mouse, Mazda. I think it's such a cute picture of them both!
Big babies!
Meet Zach. He has the softest fur and eyes that will melt your heart. It's such a wonderful feeling having a pet dog.. I have no idea why so many of my friends are scared of them. Very scary
meh?
So that was my adventure over the weekend with zero work done. It's already Sundayyyy.
In other
AF news, I finally met up with Steffie!!! We did what we did best (shop), laughed ALOT and surprise surprise,
didnt gossip. But it was good fun hanging out although I got a little freaked out when I had to drive back alone on unfamiliar roads.
*Siao, bring you out again ok? You need to see the world!
As for now, its back to the humdrum. x(
