On a last note:
Everyone gets sick of trying too hard. I'm guilty of that. No one understands how annoying it is when you get people making empty promises saying "eh! meet up when you get back ok? must meet up. die die must meet up".
Truckload of bullshit.
To everyone who thought I've MIA-ed since coming back from Australia and before leaving for the states, I did it for a good reason. I didn't see the need to announce my arrival or my departure because it won't make a difference. Everyone says to meet up as a sign of formality but I ultimately know who are the ones that are really trying hard to make the friendship work. To set the record straight, they are the ones who don't study in Singapore. They are the ones who know how it feels like to be pulled back from their comfort zone just when they thought they've settled down, again. They are the ones who know the importance of family time instead of having dinner outside with friends.
Of course there's the exception of Tricia and my best friend who has never failed to be there for me, for every reason I can think of. That includes the willingness to pick me up from the airport at 7am.
In any case, I'm done with believing most of those "i miss you! come home soon" that I get occasionally.
Honestly, whatever man. Whatever.
