I believe when your time is up, there's no escaping death. Just look at what happened. Look at how many lives were lost in 20 mins or so by the tsunami.. This is the effect of messing around with Mother Nature. Think about it. No matter how advanced science and technology are, we are still helpless when natural disasters strike. Sure, we are able to tell when a volcano is about to erupt and perhaps evacuate in time. But tell me, how can one escape from an earthquake? Or from a tsunami in this case?
This is definitely karma. The people who died are lucky in a way cos that's the end. But those living in the same area would have to brace themselves for the epidemic that would arise, sooner or later. Those suffer. Hafta payback for whatever they've done.
Singaporeans should count their lucky stars and stop being complacent. At the rate we're wasting food and polluting the air, don't be surprised if we end up being children in Africa, suffering from malnutrition in our next lives. That's if you believe in reincarnation. Sars was just a tiny tiny warning.
I know I'm one helluva morbid being but I don't think I'm wrong in anyway. Everything happens for a reason. And every reason points to the same thing; Karma.
